Potty Pot
Inflammatory bowel disease patients have long said that smoking pot helps relieve their symptoms, and science is finally catching up. New research has found that IBD patients have a higher density of CB2 receptors in their guts - CB2 is the second, less-well-characterized of the cannabinoid receptors in the body - and indicates that cannabinoid-based treatments might be helpful. Speaking to New Scientist about this research, author Karen Wright makes an amazingly stupid statement, which doesn't necessarily undermine her work, but sure makes me wonder if she's an idiot:
Also, why is 2003 UB313 being called the Tenth Planet? What happened to Sedna?
ÂWe are not advocating cannabis use, particularly as smoking tobacco exacerbates Crohn's disease and many smokers of cannabis use tobacco as well.ÂThat is a complete and total nosequituror.
